Christmas Morning

What did your Christmas morning consist of?! Mine was full of family and cheer. Our morning began at 6:00 when we gathered around the tree and enjoyed our Christmas morning breakfast made by Grandma. This is a tradition that we have followed ever since I can remember and it is one of my favorites. While enjoying our morning, my sister and I stayed cozy in matching pajamas, tacky socks and the cutest deer antlers. Following opening our gifts we got dressed and headed to church. This jolly Christmas was one to remember and I hope yours was too! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

XOXO

How I Styled The Shirt-Tied-Around-The-Waist Look

SHOES: Ralph Lauren (come in different colors) | HANDBAG: Kate Spade | JACKET: Similar | MONOGRAM NECKLACE: Lucinda's Jewelry HAIR: Shea Moisture

A striped dress is a staple that I have always been sure to have hanging in my closet. They are super easy to style and can be dressed up or down. Today I went for a chic look by adding a blue jean jacket tied around my waist. This signature look of the '90s is back and trending again! Also the shoes I'm wearing are quickly becoming my favorite wedges, plus... they are on sale.

If you are looking for a new curly hair brand to buy from, Shea Moisture is having a 'Buy Four Get One Free" sale on their travel size products. This would be a great time for a 1st time buyer to try out the products before buying the full size. I love this company's products and what they are made of.  ( all natural!! )

Anyways, I hope to see you sporting this tied-around the waist trend!!

2015-2016 Junior Civitan International Convention

This past week I visited the sweet Peach State for the 36th annual Junior Civitan International Convention. Atlanta was my home for the week and this is where all of the exciting events occurred. During this time, I was able to create more memories with my Junior Civitan family that I will always cherish.
Our schedule was packed full of fun and interesting activities.
I truly enjoyed hearing Shane Feldman speak on his "Living My Legacy" Tour. Shane has been recognized as Americas "Top 20 under 20" and also recognized by the United Nations Youth Assembly. Feldman sent such an inspiring and motivating message to everyone that heard his story.

I also enjoyed and took pride in the times that our district and club was recognized for all of the hard work that we have put in this past year. Making our community and the world ,as a whole, a better place is enough, but being recognized for our success is like icing on the cake.
Being awarded a Junior Fellow by my co chairs was such a precious surprise that I am thankful of. All of NCDE's Juniors represented us well. I am super proud of HANDS Junior Civitan Club's many accomplishments and NCDE's overall performance.

Lastly, I would have to say that my favorite part of the convention was reconnecting with old friends and making new friends. I'm very grateful for the opportunity that this organization has given me to live outside my bubble and meet people from different states and even countries. I had the time of my life dancing the night away (literally lol) at the Final Dance with some of the best company.

Seeing the convention and Junior Civitan year come to an end is always sad, but looking ahead to the great times and projects to come is something that I'm excited about. Thank you ATL for the memories and the experiences!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Day in My Life: Visiting Charlotte, Shopping for Mom's Birthday, and meeting Danielle Marie.

Picture with Kiley at South Park Mall.
Looking around for some glassware for Mama.

Hello! I am very excited to share this blog post with you. I just took a day trip to Charlotte, NC to celebrate my mama's upcoming birthday or as we like to call it, her "birthday week" lol! While we were there, we not only celebrated her birthday but she gave my sister and I a treat as well. Since I knew that we were bound to have a fantastic time,  I decided to let you in on the great day.

To start the day off, we stopped by mama's favorite décor stores and Anthropolgie. (If you have not been to this store before, you should definitely check it out.) While we were there, I got her a gift that she was sure to love and enjoy.  After shopping around South Park, we went to the Cheesecake Factory. Here, we ordered food and some celebratory cheesecake...  it was delicious! After finishing up our lunch, Romare Bearden Park was next up on our list. This is where we met Danielle Marie. If you don't already know of her, she is a lifestyle and fashion YouTuber. I have been watching her videos for years now and she recently reached 200,000 subscribers! Meeting her was an absolute dream and she even recognized me! How cool?!?! My sister and I wanted to give her a gift so we both now have matching bracelets and a necklace with her. Her and her family were super kind and very genuine and down to earth people. After this we stopped by a few more stores and then made our way home.

This day was fantabulous. I am very thankful to have gotten to celebrate Mama's special day and to mark meeting Danielle Marie off of my summer bucket list. I hope that you enjoyed reading about this day in my life. Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Summer!

Ahh! I am thrilled that summer is finally  here! I'm so thankful that exams are over and that they went well. All of the hard studying and prayer came through. For now, I'm waving goodbye to those nights of cramming and welcoming summer right in!
Summer time brings my favorite weather and , in my opinion, some of the greatest fashion trends... One of my fav trendy must haves are gladiator sandals. If you are on Instagram, I know that you've seen them! They are super cute and vouge. These shoes can be found in almost any clothing store or boutique.  Layered necklaces are also very chic. There is a wide variety of these necklaces and they come in several different stones and colors.
                     • • • • • •
I want to make the best of this summer and pack it full of memories that will last forever. I can't wait to visit Atlanta, GA with my Junior Civitan club to the International Convention. This will be my 3rd convention and I'm sure it will be one for the books. I will also be getting my license soon..  This is something that I've been waiting to do and I feel that I'm ready. I'm also excited to spend time at the beach, go shopping, lay out by the pool, and make more blog posts! Here's to an adventurous summer!

Thanks for stopping by...

Sunday Best

 Welcome back!

I have been wanting a suede dress and I finally found one that I love! This fit & flare can be worn casually or dressy. On this day, I styled it for a Sunday morning visit to church.

Since the winter season is upon us, I wore this dress with a pair of black opaque tights. Also, my newest accessory is featured in this outfit. *drum roll please* It is the oh so popular, faux fur pom-pom keychain. I have the black one, but it comes in several more "fur"tastic colors like white and pink, brown, and turquoise. I'm sure that this pom-pom will become a part of my outfit everyday, because I love it that much!
